Cruiser Bike

Cruiser bikes are balloon-tired bikes with heavy duty frames, has simple mechanicals and a coaster brakes. These bikes are suited for riding on flat, sandy beaches, which is why they are also called "Beach cruisers." It was America's standard bike from the 1930s up to the 1950s. Cruiser bikes have also been the inspiration of early edition mountain bikes of the late 70s/early 80s.

Schwinn, one of the older and popular bike companies, produced the original cruiser bikes. I chanced upon a classic cruiser at the 10th Tour of the Fireflies. Here is a photo of the bike:

My boyfriend also made some project cruiser bikes. He bought the frame and used old parts to build this bike

My Generation's Kind of Music

Two nights ago, I watched the Swing Out Sister concert.

It was nice to know that the Andy and Corinne duo is still popular in the Philippines. Puno ang Araneta ha! And the audience was mostly young professionals whom I think grew up with their music. It is amazing how almost all the audience sang their songs, at least those from the Best of SOS album.

I really had a fun time. Parang may hangover pa yata. Hehe.

By the way, I also met and greeted them last Saturday at Megamall :)

What is this?

It's a GUITAR! It is made out of bike parts. Looks more like an art piece than a musical instrument. Sadly I wasn't able to try playing it, as it is quite heavy. Really looks interesting!
